Background

Born and raised in Bermuda, Jamel is a media consultant & personality who got his start at Radio Disney in Pawtucket, Rhode Island as a promotions assistant and party DJ. He then moved on to Hall Communications as a Morning Show Producer on Cat Country 98.1's Tad & Chris Morning Show. In March 2007, he began a successful stint at Inter-Island Communications Limited (IIC) in Bermuda overseeing the company's two radio stations. Originally hired as Sales Manager & Program Coordinator, he continued to exceed sales goals even during the unfortunate economic downturn in 2008 by using innovative methods that changed the way radio stations generated revenue in Bermuda.  Only 18 months later he was rewarded for his success with a promotion to Executive Vice President of the company. During his time at IIC he also hosted a weekend radio show. Additionally, Jamel co-hosted CITV Today which aired on the Government of Bermuda's television station CITV. After completing his MBA in 2012 he transitioned from broadcast media into destination marketing/tourism sales with Bermuda Tourism where he was responsible for driving corporate meetings & incentive groups to Bermuda. During his tenure he exceeded his personal sales goal by almost 150 percent, and was responsible for more than $12 million dollars into Bermuda’s economy in 2017 alone. This success led him to being recognized by an industry leader, appearing on their 2018 40 under 40 list.  He then began working with the BB&T Center/Florida Panthers as an Account Executive for Event Sales in December of 2018.  Most recently Jamel worked on the Community Engagement team at Discover the Palm Beaches where he was responsible for growing their partnership program. In 2018, Jamel co-founded Bermuda Communications Group Ltd (BCG) which is the parent company of BCG TV, Store Tunes Radio, The Daily Hour, and Bermuda Trivia. He currently serves as the company's Chief Executive Officer overseeing all of its brands.
